John E. Wengert Memorial Park is a newly developed 4-acre community park located along Chestnut Street in Lebanon, between South 12th and South 16th Streets. Positioned directly along the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail, this park is designed as a family-friendly destination that blends play, movement, and outdoor learning.
The park features a modern playground with dairy-inspired elements, a unique bike “traffic garden” where kids can practice riding skills and road safety, outdoor fitness equipment, a pavilion for picnics, and open green space for play and relaxation. Its direct connection to the rail trail makes it especially ideal for stroller walks, biking, and scooter rides.
Built after years of planning and officially dedicated in 2025, the park honors local community leader and conservationist John E. Wengert. It also serves as a key connector between outdoor recreation and downtown Lebanon, making it a great stop for families looking to extend their outing beyond the playground.
